One of the major reasons I haven’t posted in my blog recently is because I’ve been working night and day on a new poker project:

Poker Stategy Forums

I’m really excited about this project, there are quite a few poker forums on the internet but nobody is really doing anything with a Web 2.0 type of feel. Poker Strategy Forums is in a real soft launch phase right now where we are still adding features, working out small bugs, formatting issues, and generally getting organized. The responses from our new members have been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone seems to really like the design and user friendly feel.

There are several quality members participating in the Online Poker Chat forum as well as an incredible amount of quality Poker Videos to keep you occupied and interested in between discussing poker strategy.

Poker Strategy Forums is doing something unique that no other poker forum is doing. My Blog re-design got derailed.  I should have spent more money, money seems to fix everything :)  I tried to save a few bucks and have the website designers integrate the theme into wordpress. Lets just say it didn’t work out to well

If you know any good WordPress coders, let me know cause I need someone who can integrate some fairly complicated plug ins.

 When I send a project out for development I include a very detailed description of exactly what I want, including lots of example url’s, copies of image styles I like, etc.  The problem with the redesign of the GoodKarma Kid page wasn’t so much with the actual design, I’m more or less happy with the look and feel, but with the coder who couldn’t implement the extra features I want into the design in Wordpress. My advice is to hire an expert wordpress coder, spend a little extra money and avoid the hassle.

I’ve also been busy on some other projects which I’m really excited about.

If you decide to have a forum on your website there are lots of choices for forum software like PhpBB,  SMF,  Invision Power Board, and many others some of which are free or possibly included in your hosting package.  Do yourself a favor and forget all the free applications and download Vbulletin. Vbulletin is hands down the best forum software available. It’s not free , but it is the best.

One of the best plugins available for Vbulletin is VBSEO.  VBSEO is a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) plugin for the Vbulletin forum software.  The VBSEO software has over 200 features and configuration options.  Some of the basic features are:
