Welcome To Good Karma Kid!!!
I used to blog just about poker, but recently decided to write about everything of interest to me. I love to travel, enjoy good food & restaurants, drink some wine, and take pictures of my adventures. I got my nickname about 10 years ago when I used to play a lot of poker in Washington State, and guys used to tell me that “I was Lucky.” I always replied “I’m Not Lucky, I Have Good Karma” and a poker friend starting calling me “The Good Karma Kid”. Hope you enjoy the blog, if you like a particular article make sure to leave a comment ![]()

I’ve been talking about it for 3 years, but finally did it. I went to Roatan to check out the Real Estate Market and look for vacation property. I have heard a lot of great things about the island of Roatan, which is in Bay Islands of Honduras and I wanted to see if the island was as great as I heard. The short answer is yes
Roatan has several direct flights from the US. Continental has direct flights from Houston (about 2.5 hrs), Delta from Atlanta (about 2.5 hrs), and American from Miami (about 1.5 hrs), making Roatan a very quick and convenient destination. Roatan is also home of world class scuba diving and fishing. There are numerous dive shops in west end, but I did a little research before I went and had a good dive shop picked out before I arrived. I chose Coconut Tree Divers due to their highly qualified and trained instructors because I wanted to take some advanced scuba diving courses to further my scuba education. I ended up taking the Emergency First Responder course, and the Rescue course. Basically everything you need to know to rescue and administer first aid & CPR for scuba related injuries. It’s one of the best classes I’ve ever taken, and hopefully will never need to use it.

My wife and I are expecting a baby boy in October, and my wife kept dropping hints about going on a “Baby Moon”. It would be our last chance to spend time alone
and that whole song and dance. I was getting a little burned out on poker, and could always use a vacaction. I’ve been playing poker professionaly for almost 6 years now and the truth is I can’t see myself doing much else. It can be pretty rewarding, both financially, and personally. You have a huge amount of independence and freedom that jobs and owning your own business don’t afford you. BUT, as great as poker is, its tough to stay motivated some time.
Anyhow, my mom has a timeshare which is good at several different location around the U.S. and Mexico.
The condo at Lake Tahoe has been booked solid for the summer for months, but we got lucky and their was a cancellation so we were able to reserve a room for three days starting on the 8th of August. It should be a lot of fun, I’ve heard lots of great things about Lake Tahoe, but never been there.
Be back on Thursday,
Today’s Poker Lesson: Keep your wife/husband or significant other happy. The ups and downs of Poker are tough on them also. If your relationship is good and your significant other is happy, it will make your job as a poker player much easier.
