Welcome To Good Karma Kid!!!
I used to blog just about poker, but recently decided to write about everything of interest to me. I love to travel, enjoy good food & restaurants, drink some wine, and take pictures of my adventures. I got my nickname about 10 years ago when I used to play a lot of poker in Washington State, and guys used to tell me that “I was Lucky.” I always replied “I’m Not Lucky, I Have Good Karma” and a poker friend starting calling me “The Good Karma Kid”. Hope you enjoy the blog, if you like a particular article make sure to leave a comment ![]()

I spent the night off doing some research on my new Poker Affiliate Programs site.
I also, spent a couple hours reading and bookmarking good Poker Blogs. Some of the better poker blogs from my perspective are:
table-tango.pokerworks.com/ - This is one of the original blogs on the internet about poker, Linda has been posting her stories from the Bellagio since before the term “blog” even became popular. I have known her for over 5 years from playing poker at the Bellagio. She is a genuinely nice person and a very good dealer also. Her stories are dead on accurate, hard to believe how the high limit players behave, but it is very true.
If you search for poker blogs on Google, Yahoo, MSN or any of the other big search engines you will undoubtedly find this blog towards the top: guinnessandpoker.blogspot.com/ The guy who writes the blogs name is “Iggy”, some of the stuff he writes about is pretty funny. Sometimes he tends to ramble, I think his name for rambling is a “uber-post”. Not sure where that name came from or if he coined the term but “uber-post” seems to fit his page perfectly.
I literally surfed hundreds of blogs, looking at what other people were writing about, styles, content, etc. I have linked to the blogs and sites that I like on the left hand side of this page.
Quite a few of the blogs provide some pretty interesting stories, some provide decent advice about poker and some poker blogs really do a disservice to their readers by providing truly bad poker advice.
Today’s Poker Lesson: Be careful about taking advice off of a blog, even mine for that fact. I’ve read some pretty interesting theories on poker on some different blogs. Best thing to do is process the information and figure out best what works for your style.

I got completely tortured tonight, I lost a small used car. No not really, but I did lose enough to buy one. Basically lost back all the money I won a couple nights ago. Needless to say, I wasn’t to happy with myself
I won’t bore you with the details and the numerous suckouts performed. Lets just say it was one hell of a performance.
Normally, I’m not an advocate of a stop-loss, stop-win type of strategy, but tonight I wish I would have set a stop-loss, it would have been much less painfull. I will write more about my thoughts on stop-losses in a future post.
Right now, I have a date with Captain Morgan
Today’s Poker Lesson: Sometimes it’s just not your day, don’t throw good money after bad, even if your are “just running bad”. Chances are you’ve also made some “bad plays” in combination with the miraculous suckouts performed by your opponents.

I started off the evening with no intentions of playing online, I played quite a bit over the weekend and was just going to do some surfing, mostly still doing research for my website about how to Promote Poker by signing up for Poker Affiliate Programs .The web site is improving all the time, but still needs some more content. I was just playing with some different ideas in frontpage, finally came to the realization that it would be much more productive for me to pay somebody for a killer design. I may have went a little crazy with my ideas that I sent to a couple web design companies. It was an 11 page document and they sent me an 11 page price
$4700. I might have to scale back some of my ambitions.
Anyhow, I was surfing, decided to jump on PartyPoker and just check and see how the games were (Silly me, the games are always good). I usually play 2 or 3 20-40 Limit Hold’em games at the same time and it didn’t take long to look down and be stuck 1200. There is definitely no shortage of gamble in these games. It seems the higher you play, the worse the opponents play.
After an hour or so, I was back to even, but I had been watching a 50-100 game that was crazy, 2 or 3 guys going ballistic every hand. I hadn’t played the new 50-100 game before, but it looked like a great time to check it out. I normally play pretty loose, it fits my style, I like to see a lot of flops and push all the small edges. This was not the game to see a lot of flops in, it was 200 to go every hand. Played for a short while and won a couple small pots to stay a few hundred ahead. Never made a decent hand to play when the fish were going crazy.
Oh well, thats poker. Sometimes Lobster, Sometimes Steak.
Today’s Poker Lesson: If you’ve planned on taking the day off, do just that! Don’t log in to your favorite online poker site “just to check on the games”, or drop by your favorite cardroom to take a peek or have some dinner
Just take the day off and enjoy your life away from poker.
